Bea Oyster is a creative, photographer, and visuals editor from Honolulu, Hawai‘i.
Growing up with two younger sisters, her work is deeply rooted in connection–especially the familial, romantic, and platonic relationships between women.
Her first major project, O‘ahu Surfer Girls, chronicled a year in the lives of Hawai‘i’s next generation of pro surfers, from Waikiki to Makaha. The series earned her her first assignment for TIME magazine in 2021.
While studying art history at Smith College, Bea sharpened her eye for visual storytelling, becoming a regular contributor to publications including The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Guardian, and others.
Today, Bea is an Associate Visuals Editor at Teen Vogue, where she produces, pitches, edits, and shoots visual stories. Check out her latest work here.
Outside of editing, Bea is available for creative collaborations and freelance projects in NYC.
